Research Interests

Reference genes are a crucial component in molecular biology research. These genes serve as internal controls to ensure accurate and reliable quantification of gene expression levels. The use of reference genes is especially important in experiments that involve the comparison of gene expression levels between different samples or conditions. The choice of appropriate reference genes is critical, as the expression levels of some commonly used reference genes may be affected by experimental conditions.

Reference genes that are commonly used in other organisms are often not suitable for quinoa due to its unique genetic and physiological characteristics. Therefore, the identification and validation of stable reference genes in quinoa is crucial for accurate gene expression analysis. This is why I dedicated my Bachelor's thesis to the task of finding stable reference genes in Chenopodium Quinoa, tailored to our experimental conditions.
