Research Interests

I am investigating the responses of pseudo-cereal Chenopodium quinoa (quinoa) to abiotic stresses. Furthermore, I am interested in the breeding of other crops like maize, barley or other superfoods. This might help overcome upcoming obstacles due to climate change and the subsequently increasing extreme weather events. Here, quinoa offers a lot of potential due to its high nutrient value. More research on this topic might be helpful for new breeding programs on stress-tolerant plants that maintain yield even under harsh conditions.
